As we make our way through our careers, we see that work is best accomplished with the power of others. However, have you ever explained something so clearly to someone, yet they do not seem to understand you? Or vice versa? Or wonder why the same exact information can be interpreted differently by different people? Why does this happen?
The way we work and communicate is linked to the way we think, and the way we think is influenced by our personality. Each personality has its own way of acting, reacting, analyzing and problem solving. In other words, each has its own version of reality.
As we work with people of different personality types, there is a potential for misunderstanding and conflicts through the way we behave and communicate. Understanding personality allows you to work in an intelligent way and to anticipate and pre-empt potential problems when working across different personality types, allowing you to develop better rapport with them as well.
