“Enlightened business leaders have identified a new tool that has enormous
potential for creating improvements across an organisation. This is humour.
Previously, humour was seen as having nothing to do with a successful workplace –
in fact, it was regarded by many to be counterproductive. Now it is recognised
that how much fun staff are having is a good measure of the effectiveness of the
workplace. The intelligent use of humour in the business context has been
effectively used from the board-room meeting to the service at the front counter.
It has been shown to improve creativity, engagement, empathy, team spirit and
attitude which, in turn, leads to greater efficiency and profitability.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to :-
 Improve ‘humour confidence’ . They will learn about their personal style of humour and be made more confident about their ability to add humour to any situation.
 Use humour to improve the ambience of the workplace
 Use humour to improve sales presentations and as a trial close.
 Identify and implement appropriate fun practices and activities.
Implement these in a way that they are fully integrated with the working day – not a separate activity.
 Improve leadership skills for managers. Humour can be a particularly powerful tool to interest, motivate, even correct staff.
 Use fun to create ‘buy-in’; allowing the creation of programs that people will want to be part of – improving their participation, level of ownership, and overall engagement.
